Project 2; its a wrap

OK, for those of you who don't know, I was sent back to Maryland a week early for the "safety of my health". I'm fine and feeling great! Good to be back on the east coast. Here are some select photos from my last week in WV-

I don't have a photo of the near complete work we did on the yurt roof at TMI

As far as High Rocks goes, I played a major part in a couple very important structures that went up on the grounds. First is the shower house. Our team built this 4-shower-and-changing-stalls shack in 3 weeks. Check out the progress

Second, and my personal favorite, the shitter! Jill, Ashley, and I designed and built this ass-pleasing chair from scratch! See the progress

Moving on, there was a backpacking trip in there somewhere and here I am sporting my huge pack and then its me again sitting at the base of a tree.

Next we have some lovely photos of the West Virginia landscape at dusk. OOOHH AAHHH

And last but not least, a photo from the Whitewater trip. It's my raft! I got the photos here Songer Whitewater

Yep, thats me alright. You'll notice as you look through other photos that I am making the same face on every rapid! I have a video too but not sure how to get that online yet.

I'm getting kicked out of the library- TTYL

Project 3 has come

The long awaited news has finally rolled down the chain. We will be traveling back to the gulf for our third round working St. Bernard Parish project outside New Orleans. We will be living in Camp Hope. Welcome to the hottest summer of my life!

In other news, project 2 is coming to a close. I am back at the Mountain Institute for the last 2 weeks. We only have 5 work days left, one this week. Our camping and rafting trip is this thursday/friday.

Will edit and add pictures later

Gotta run!

This Just in... (did I already use that line?)

I have updated photos! It's past my bedtime so this will not be fancy by any means. I just feel that after having an evening full of attitude and grump that I would share some happiness. P.S., I watched Hairspray and that helped with the 'tude. Onward!

This is me in my element right now.

Brief story: We went to a cave. It was a really tight fit.

It was so large and extremely dark, the camera couldn't comprehend.

Did I mention that it was extremely dark?

There were signs left from the past.

And whatever this is... The end.
